Hotline helps homeowners avoid foreclosure:
The Colorado Foreclosure Hotline has helped 13,000 Colorado homeowners avoid foreclosure in that time. “We had no idea what to expect when the hotline began but we’ve seen the Colorado Foreclosure Hotline successfully help homeowners since the day the phone lines opened,” Hotline Manager Stephanie Riggi said.

Local home building improves in October:
The pace of home building improved in the Colorado Springs area last month, while foreclosure filings might be leveling off, two new reports suggest. Good news for the housing market.  Not so fast, industry officials say:  Building activity: El Paso County single-family home building permits totaled 105 in October, a 52.2 percent jump over the same month last year, according to the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. October’s permit total is compared against a particularly bad month in October 2008, when just 69 single-family home building permits were pulled one of the lowest monthly totals in many years.

School housing project gets boost from Garfield County:
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado – Local school officials got what they needed from Garfield County this week, when the Board of County Commissioners agreed to kick in nearly $1 million toward an affordable housing project in Carbondale. The project, which is to surround two former school buildings at the south end of town, is primarily to house teachers, although employees of the town and the county will be eligible, too.

Thompson annexation decision expected at Carbondale trustees:
CARBONDALE, Colorado – Town planning staff is recommending approval of the proposed 10.2-acre Thompson Park annexation and zoning for up to 85 residential units.
